Teacher Newsletter
There has been no vehicle for
communication among Karen teachers. It is especially difficult to share
information between camp schools and those inside.
KTWG has begun producing a newsletter as a regular forum for communication
amongst Karen teachers. The newsletter contains:
- news concerning Karen schools and education
- relevant international education news
- educational theory in the form of distance education
- interviews with teachers
- a 'Teacher Talk' write-in section
- special interest stories
- articles from foreign teacher journals
- critical thinking puzzles
- cultural and traditional teachings
- and further topics as requested by Karen teachers
The newsletter is published quarterly in Karen language and is distributed to Karen schools both in camps and in Karen State. We hope that the newsletter will facilitate skill development and empower teachers by providing them access to information. The newsletter will act as an ongoing assessor of the status of Karen education.
